About me

A British-Canadian writer, I've grown up in the heart of the Montreal Plateau. I've lived here since I was six years old and know the ins and outs of the city, especially the art and literary scene. If you want to see the culturally enriching, intellectual, or artistic side of Montreal, then I'm your girl!

Please note: as a safety precaution, I do not give tours involving rental or personal vehicles. However, I would love to show you the city on foot, using public transportation, or travelling with a service such as taxis or Uber. Thanks for understanding.

Cancellation policy: 24 hours.

With only a few hours to spare and with no time to research “the best things to do in Montreal” I left it to Willow to recommend a walking tour that included her favorite places and sites. Willow’s tour was just what I was looking for: interesting and filled with unique factoids about the sites, streets and monuments along the way. 10 minutes into the tour we found out that we are both fans of the late Singer Song writer and Montreal Native, Leonard Cohen. So, as we walked the streets of Montreal, Willow shared stories about Cohen’s life and of how the city streets and iconic monuments are referenced in his songs. We started at the Marguerite-Bourgeoys Church where we climbed the 67 stairs to the top Church’s tower for some great views of the city. Then we went for a brief tour of the Clock Tower and a stroll along the Saint Lawrence river. We continued to walk through the Governor's Garden and took a short Uber drive to the top of St. Laurent street. The ambiance of this part of town is filled with counterculture shops and café’s, awesome street murals, and some very colorful people. We finished our tour stuffing our faces with some really tasty roast beef sandwiches at a Jewish Deli that was frequented by no other than the great Leonard Cohen. I am very happy to have chosen Willow as my Montreal CityPal. She customized the tour on the fly to make sure I find the places and stories interesting and appealing. Adding to the overall experience were intriguing side conversations about storytelling, travel, culture, religion, business and much more. Thank you Willow for showing me a great and memorable time in Montreal.
