See a beautiful part of the City that few tourists venture to!
This is a very historically rich and landmark dense tour. On this excursion we'll be visiting; Riverside Park, Columbia University, Riverside Church, President Grants Tomb/National Historic Site, 125th Street, the Apollo theater, Sylvia's Restaurant, President Bill Clinton's office building and optionally, for those with an appetite for beautiful scenery, a trip across the RFK bridge.
Itinerary: We will begin by meeting at the 96th street 1 train station (exact location below), from whence we'll walk westward across Manhattans beautiful Upper West Side/ Morningside Neighborhoods to the Hudson River and Riverside Park. Traveling North along the waterside our first stop will be the tomb and National Historic Site of our 18th president Ulysses S. Grant. Only a few blocks away is the brobdingnagian Riverside Church and from there we'll head to the City's most prestigious institute: Columbia University. Following our meandering through the campus, we'll make the quick trip north to the famed 125th street, where we'll begin the final leg of our trip. Heading East we'll see (in order); the world famous Apollo Theater, Sylvia's restaurant (virtually every president and celebrity in modern times has eaten there) and finally 42nd President Bill Clinton's office building. We conclude on the East side where you can take the 4/5/6 train, Metro-North, or any number of buses to return to your lodgings.
**For those wanting to include the walking over the RFK bridge and a visit to Ward's Island, our ending point will be in Astoria, Queens where you can catch the N/W trains.
